Will this fix the metal bar I can feel through the mattress?
Yes. The primary job of the SleeperSaver boards is to act as a rigid shield over the metal pull-out frame. Each board sits between the sleeper sofa frame and the mattress, creating a rigid or semi-rigid surface over the steel support bars so you stop feeling them through the mattress. SleeperSaver Pro and Classic use reinforced plywood; Lite uses twin-wall polypropylene with a slight flex.
What sizes do these boards come in?
All three SleeperSaver boards come in Twin, Full, and Queen — matched to the most common sleeper sofa dimensions.
Are these boards easy to install?
Yes. Pull the sleeper bed open, drop the board on the canvas above the bars, and place the mattress back on top. No tools, no hardware. SleeperSaver Pro adds a one-time hook-and-loop strap install so it stays in place and folds with the sofa bed.
Will this work with my memory foam mattress?
Yes. All three boards work with memory foam, hybrid, and innerspring mattresses. The board doesn’t affect the mattress surface — it adds the rigid support that the mattress and the underside of the mattress, so your mattress lasts longer with proper compatibility. In fact, memory foam mattresses tend to benefit the most from a support board — without one, the bars create the most foundational memory foam wears in the long run.
Can I store the board when it’s not in use?
SleeperSaver Classic and Lite both fold for easy storage. Tuck them behind the sofa, under the bed, or in a closet. SleeperSaver Lite is especially lightweight, so it’s easiest to move around if you only pull the sofa bed out occasionally. SleeperSaver Pro stays installed — it folds with your sofa bed automatically every time you close it. No storage needed.
